The increased demand for teleconsultation during the COVID-19 pandemic led to a desire to help the patient by providing patient-centred care at a distance. The idea of a remote dermatology clinic was first floated at the Alter State Women’s Sprint and, thanks to a strong team, has slowly become a reality.
We realised that teleconsultations allow us to look at each patient individually, taking more time to analyse each situation comprehensively. The survey found that 96% of respondents had a history of skin problems. Many people said that they don’t always have the time or are unable to see a dermatologist for various reasons.
